A Pioneer Entrepreneur in Muslim Community in Singapore

1986 - 1989

Mr. Matt Sam joined Techno-Soft Communications Pte Ltd in Sim Lim Square, as the Sales Executive and within few months laddered himself to Sales Manager. He achieved high sales quota and within the same year, earned himself top authorized sales personnel for the once popular Lingo computer products for 3/three years.

1989 - 1991

Mr. Matt Sam and his younger brother Mr. Dann Sam decided to set up and ran their family owned business. Ophir Electronics started off assembling and selling OEM ‘Ophir’ PCs. The sale of PCs, peripherals, hard disks and other components penetrated both the local and overseas market especially Eastern Bloc, India and Pakistan. Ophir Electronics was the Pioneer Muslim company to operate in Sim Lim Square, Singapore’s IT Hub and became Entrepreneur for Singapore Muslim Community in 1989.

 

1991 - 1996

By 1991 Ophir Electronics became a private limited company selling our OEM PCs. Ophir Electronics Pte Ltd was appointed the Value Added Reseller for branded PCs such as IBM and HP. Being a Value Added Reseller meant selling the PCs with additional software which were developed by Ophir Electronics Pte Ltd.

Creating a Household name – OEM ‘Ophir’

Ophir Electronics Pte Ltd. was supplying a monthly average of 1,500 to 2,000 complete sets of computer OEM ‘Ophir’ and 2,000 sets average on SKD (Semi-Knock-Down). Mr. Matt reached a monthly quota of USD $1.5 million to USD $2.5 million. Throughout and till date we have been constantly trying to create a household name as shown in the timeline. We have been revamping our company image to maximize on different approaches to different markets and interests over the past 2/two decades.
